lyrics
I been wondering
How you take your eggs
How you smell at 6am and if you got someone to wonder on
Most days
I sit and burn with my
Dumb pride and how I’ve learned to hide my eyes from the spectacle of love
Hey buddy, I don’t know
I think it’s worth a go
I bet you feel it in your bones
It’s like the whole things coming through at the seams
No place for cherry trees
I’m a little cherry blossom going brown
I wonder
If you feel it too
I wonder how we’d do if we bent our knees and squinted at the ground
Can’t let the weather keep you down
Daylight comes and goes
And I’m back in the throes of a purple tinted vision to the south
Maybe it’s my red blood calling now
For the taste that I have done without
Maybe I’m just tired of this town
Nobody ever taught us how

This is a very strong sophomore record - No sophomore slump here. This shows Gudasz' growth as a songwriter. She's branching out in different directions musically with some very cool production work. Some of the songs are even better than those from Oleander, her debut LP. While some of those sounds/textures are still present here, this record has some more challenging (and rewarding) results. For fans of Leonard Cohen, Sharon Van Etten, Aimee Mann and Joni Mitchell. travm0

Working with her friend and co-producer Nick Sanborn (of Sylvan Esso), Wasner crafts a unique, atmospheric sound, combining electro-pop synths, guitars, and wind instruments, while tastefully altering and layering her own resonant vocals. jmand300
