lyrics
Sun fell in like syrup
And I was feeling kicking
I was feeling kicking
No one could know if it was all in my head
I knew it was beside the point
I knew that time would join the body to the feeling
Glory, little glory
Oh what a glory in me
Squint your eyes a little
And you can see the stitches
You can see the stitches every time I deny a love of popular flowers
But who can refuse purple and red
Who can help from holding tiny fingers
Glory, little glory
Oh what a glory to see
Let me be clear as crystal
I was shaking
I was shaking thinking of all the places I’ve never gone
I wondered if this plane was going down
If I’d rather be round or flattened
Glory, little glory
Applause for every glory
For our small and restless stories
And for the way I’m bound to worry over glory

This is a very strong sophomore record - No sophomore slump here. This shows Gudasz' growth as a songwriter. She's branching out in different directions musically with some very cool production work. Some of the songs are even better than those from Oleander, her debut LP. While some of those sounds/textures are still present here, this record has some more challenging (and rewarding) results. For fans of Leonard Cohen, Sharon Van Etten, Aimee Mann and Joni Mitchell. travm0

Working with her friend and co-producer Nick Sanborn (of Sylvan Esso), Wasner crafts a unique, atmospheric sound, combining electro-pop synths, guitars, and wind instruments, while tastefully altering and layering her own resonant vocals. jmand300
